EUROPA LEAGUE: Ajax to face Schalke 04
Ajax will face Germany's Schalke 04 in the Europa League quarterfinals. The Amsterdam team will kick off the series with a home game on Thursday, April 13.
This is the first time since 2003 that Ajax has reached the quarterfinals of a European tournament. Last night, Ajax defeated FC Copenhagen 2-0 at their home stadium. That result was enough to advance, after they had lost 2-1 in the Danish capital a week earlier.
The other quarterfinal matches are Anderlecht vs. Manchester United, Celta de Vigo vs. Genk, and Besiktas vs. Olympique Lyon.
